Quick Start

From a new tenant to your first connected call.

This walks through the shortest path from a fresh Neo Dialer tenant to a call an agent actually answers. It assumes you have a SIP trunk with a carrier already — if you do not, read SIP Trunk Setup first.

Step 1 — Sign in

Your tenant is created for you during onboarding. Sign in at the dialer with the credentials you were given.

The first thing to notice is the view switcher at the bottom of the sidebar. Neo Dialer presents four workspaces on the same account — Agent, Supervisor, Admin and Platform Admin — and you only see the ones your role allows. Most of this guide happens in the Admin view.

Step 2 — Connect your SIP trunk

Go to Admin → Telephony → SIP Trunks and add a trunk. You will need:

FieldWhat it is
Host / SIP serverThe address your carrier gave you, e.g. sip.telnyx.com
AuthenticationEither registration (username + password) or IP authentication
Outbound contextLeave at the default unless your carrier told you otherwise

Trunks are provisioned into Asterisk through PJSIP realtime as soon as you save, so there is no separate deploy step. Give it a few seconds, then check the trunk shows as registered.

If registration does not come up, the cause is almost always credentials or an IP allowlist on the carrier side. See Troubleshooting.

Step 3 — Add a phone number

Go to Admin → Telephony → Phone Numbers and add the number your carrier routes to you.

A number routes inbound to exactly one tenant — that is enforced by a database constraint, not by convention. The same number can still be presented as outbound caller ID by other tenants; those rows exist with inbound disabled.

Step 4 — Create users

Admin → Administration → Users. Add your agents and assign roles. The hierarchy runs:

agent → supervisor → org_admin → billing_admin → tenant_admin → owner

Give people the narrowest role that lets them work. You can require multi-factor authentication for the whole organisation from Admin → Security.

Step 5 — Create a campaign

Campaigns → New Campaign. You can start from scratch or from one of the prebuilt industry templates.

  1. Basics — name, and the caller ID this campaign presents
  2. Contacts — upload a CSV. phone is required; first_name,

last_name and email are optional but make scripts and AI agents much more useful

  1. Dialing mode — start with preview while you are testing; see

Dialing Modes

  1. Schedule — set the calling window. It is enforced in the contact's

timezone, not yours

Step 6 — Test before you launch

Open the campaign and use Test to dial a single number you control. This runs the whole path — trunk, routing, recording, disposition — against one call instead of a list.

Step 7 — Dial

Agents open Dialer in the Agent view. The softphone runs in the browser over WebRTC; there is nothing to install. SIP signalling is proxied over port 443, so it works from behind restrictive corporate firewalls.

Press Go available and the campaign starts feeding calls.
